Commitment to Accessibility
Insight is committed to providing an innovative research administration platform that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform and strive to ensure that our system can be used effectively by individuals with diverse abilities and assistive technologies.
Accessibility is integrated into Insight’s product design, development practices, and platform governance. Our goal is to support inclusive research administration environments where investigators, administrators, compliance staff, and institutional partners can effectively use the system.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. These guidelines define three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Insight is designed to support conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the accessibility standard widely adopted by higher education institutions and public sector organizations.
These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), provide technical standards for making web content accessible to individuals who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech-input software, keyboard navigation, or alternative input devices.
Accessibility Conformance Status
Insight recently engaged a premier global third-party consultancy specializing in digital accessibility and compliance to conduct an independent accessibility evaluation of the platform.
Based on this review, Insight is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with a limited number of accessibility improvements identified for remediation. Accessibility is periodically reassessed through internal reviews and external accessibility testing.
Accessibility improvements are continuously incorporated into platform development and release cycles to further strengthen compliance and usability.
Measures to Support Accessibility
Insight takes a proactive approach to accessibility across the platform.
Accessibility considerations are incorporated into Insight’s product design, development, and quality assurance processes to ensure that accessibility improvements are addressed as part of ongoing platform releases.
